The exhaustion is real

I've been so busy I've hardly noticed my cold or my runny nose until I lost my voice today. Good thing I haven't had to answer the phone yet...

My project in the beauty department recently ended so I switched to become an edit intern. I unfortunately had to move out of my window office but on the bright side I'm in another office that's much warmer (I felt like I was living in a freezer in the other office). I share it with another intern and someone has to be in here almost all the time. We sit by the Editor in Chief's office and across from the assistant managing editor. I manage his phone calls. He has an uncommon name I was nervous of fumbling the first time I had to answer his phone. If the EIC's assistant has to step out, let's say to the bathroom, then she calls one of us to sit in for her, god forbid a phone call is missed before someone jets off to Paris.

I now assist several editors, meaning I could get several projects dumped on me. I love it. From researching for current stories, transcribing interviews, running errands, there's always something to do. Then, of course, coffee and lunch runs. Oh and picking up Dior jackets and dropping off packages at the EIC's apartment.

Yesterday I fetched coffee for the EIC, went to a job interview, went grocery shopping for a story in the June issue, then ran back to the office to finish a 90 minute transcription that was due last night. I didn't have time to stop for a second. At 6:40 I rushed off to Victoria's Secret to start work at 7--scarfing half a sandwich on the way. I worked both jobs two days in a row, and now my voice is gone.

My name is Andy if you need me to pick up 20 ugly skirts or a book that hasn't been published yet. I will find it for you.
