Maybelline Color Whisper: the perfect lipstick for daytime

I came home from a long day of work last week to discover a package waiting for me — and inside was the Maybelline Color Whisper collection! I was so excited to try all the colors, but it was late at night, so I ended up going to bed with color swatches all over my hand.

I'm more of a bold person when it comes to lipstick — I don't wear it all the time, but when I do, I go bold. Bright, dark, or a vibrant buy-me-a-drink red. But this line is perfect for daytime wear when you just want a touch of color. So far my favorites have been Pink Possibilities, Orange Attitude, and Pin Up Peach.

It does come off easily so you have to reapply frequently, but you don't need a mirror to do so. The line is similar to L'Oreal Colour Riche, but I like Color Whisper better because it doesn't dry out my lips as much. It's actually moisturizing so I can reapply throughout the day without lip balm. The gel-color glides on smoothly and it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything on your lips but lip balm. It's translucent so you can apply a lit or a lot to get the color you want.

For a hot day in NYC, Color Whisper is perfect. I'm going to keep a few colors in my purse for work, but I'm still going to reach for my bold lipsticks for night.
