Move over Google maps, the next best map is coming
I've obviously been looking for and applying for jobs for several months now since I don't want to be in retail forever. But I don't need to tell you that the job market still sucks. Many entry level jobs require experience. How can I get this experience if I can't get a job?
As I've mentioned, it's all about who you know in the magazine industry. I've been networking checking job sites daily but I do believe it's about timing as well and I think my timing is off. I did have one job interview recently that I unfortunately did not get, although they did like my personality and energy.
It's been a year since I graduated. Which has been freaking me out. People ask me what I'm doing and I think to myself, "OMG I have to tell them I work at Victoria's Secret, this is sooo disappointing," and I always feel like I have to justify myself. But I shouldn't have to. (Read: 25 Things You Don't Have to Justify to Anyone)
I'm at the point where I don't feel productive and I don't feel like I'm learning any new skills. Luckily, an amazing internship landed in my lap. Yes, an internship. Unpaid. Whatever, I'm doing it! Tomorrow I'm starting at CityMaps as a social media/blogging/marketing intern to help launch the next best iPhone app. I'll give you more information once I learn more and I'll explain more later about what exactly I'll be doing. But I'm excited, and that's all that matters.
This means I'm back to working crazy hours as I'll be staying full-time at VS obviously to pay my million bills. Cheers to no sleep!
